Yuki Yeung's personal experience with heat in her student residence led her to research heat stress in Canadian post-secondary residences. Her thesis, published in Canadian Geographies, used Reddit to analyze student perceptions and highlighted the significant impact of climate change-induced heat waves on student well-being and academics. 

The Write-life project, led by COHESU and the University of Waterloo, examines the impact of COVID-19 on women's health in Kisumu, Kenya, and Mukono, Uganda. By centring women's voices across socio-economic backgrounds, this research aims to address health disparities and empower women, informing policy and practice to tackle inequalities deepened by the pandemic.

GoHelP lab members Cynthia Itbo Musah (MA) and Abraham Nungobu (Postdoctoral Fellow) presented their research at the Canadian Conference on Global Health in November of 2022.

Thelma's research about the availability and access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in Kenya related to the COVID-19 pandemic is highlighted by the Water Institute. Her piece "Preparing for pandemics in Kenya’s healthcare facilities: The critical need for WASH", can be found in the 13th issue of WaterResearch.

Congratulations to Abraham on the successful defence of his PhD dissertation, "Bridging the health equity gap: examining the effects of water, sanitation and hygiene (WaSH) gender-based violence on health and wellbeing in Ghana".
