A scholarship, valued at up to $2,000, will be awarded annually to a full-time international graduate student enrolled in any program in the Faculty of Environment. Selection will be based on scholastic excellence (minimum cumulative average of 80%). Preference will be given to students who demonstrate leadership and community engagement.
Interested and eligible students must complete an application found on the Faculty of Environment website and submit it to the Associate Dean, Graduate Studies Office in the Faculty of Environment by February 1. The Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, in the Faculty of Environment will select a recipient annually in the winter term. This fund is made possible by gifts made in honour of Mari Foroutan who lost her life on January 8, 2020 aboard the Ukraine International Flight PS752.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
