Here is Carlo's video on decarbonizing ammonia:
Congratulations to Mike on publishing his paper in Applied Energy! You can find the paper "Hybrid lithium-ion battery and hydrogen energy storage systems for a wind-supplied microgrid."
Jinhe presented his talk "Pore Network Modeling of One-dimensional Transient Heat Transfer Behavior of Core-shell Paraffin-based Composites" in the Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineering and Computatonal Fluid Dynamics Canada International Congress 2023!

We had a great time discussing clean ammonia for energy storage, combustion, and different novel production methods in the workshop!
Our research group receives a New Frontiers in Research Fund - Exploration on "Ammonia as an energy 'currency' to connect the food, energy and trade sectors." This project aims to help improve understanding of low-carbon ammonia's role as a connecting currency and develop a scalable electrochemical power-to-ammonia process with no carbon emissions. Congratulations!
A new paper titled "Electrocatalytic Disproportionation of Nitric Oxide Toward Efficient Nitrogen Fixation" is now published in Advanced Energy Materials. Using a bipolar membrane, the process effectively converts nitric oxide to ammonia and nitrates. We analyzed the techno-economics of the process. Congratulations, Jinhe!
We have conducted a detailed study on an offshore wind power-to-ammonia system. You can find the detailed component sizing, production cost and carbon emissions of the system in the paper. Congratulations, Carlo!
Our group receives a 2022 Transition Pathways research grant to study the potential of connecting fuel cell electric vehicles (#FCEVs) to the grid, suppoted by the Transition Accelerator.
