Sigrid Peldszus is a Research Associate Professor and the Chair’s Senior Chemist. She joined the group shortly after its inception in 1993 as a Postdoctoral Fellow after completing her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry in Bonn, Germany.
Dr. Peldszus is an analytical/environmental chemist with an interest in engineering processes mainly in the area of water treatment. Her research focuses on origin and fate of contaminants in conventional and advanced water treatment processes; and on developing the required analytical techniques to do so. Current projects study removal of pharmaceuticals and endocrine disrupters when applying e.g. GAC adsorption, membranes or UV processes.
