Paul Markin received a BSc. with Honours in 2014 from the University of British Columbia. His concentration was microbiology. His honours thesis investigated the abundance of nitrogen cycling genes in perennial agricultural soils.
Paul joined the NSERC Chair group in September 2014 to pursue a MASc. under the supervision of Dr. Huck with guidance from Dr. Van Dyke. Paul will be comparing biofilm communities from fouled nanofiltration membranes with those on fully operational biofilter media.
