The PiDC Alliance is guided by the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) Planning Framework. This framework was developed following the Roundtable on Future Planning for People Affected by Alzheimer Disease and Related Dementias.
The framework encompasses:
A vision where all persons with ADRD and their partners in care can live meaningful lives across the progression of the illness through active personal and community engagement.
A set of guiding principles that stresses:
- a relationship-based approach
- the ethical principle of, "Do No Harm"
- citizenry rights
- respect for diversity and inclusiveness
- fairness in eligibility and accessibility
- accountability
Three central pillars, where:
- all citizens are informed
- environments are enabling and supportive
- personal, social, and system connectedness is developed
