The Blanket Exercise

Location: St. Jerome's Academic Centre (SJ2)


The Blanket Exercise is a powerful learning experience which shares the historic and contemporary relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. In this participatory workshop, participants are led through 500 years of history.

Rachel Reist, PACS Internship Coordinator, will be hosting an information session to explain what is involved in a PACS internship, the process, and how to find a placement. There will be cookies and lots of information!

Building a Global Low Carbon Economy Piece by Peace

What role can peace scholars and practitioners play in that complex but imperative transition? This interactive presentation will explore that question and present ideas on how you can be engaged in this important work in Waterloo Region and beyond.

A Conversation with Robin Speziale

Come out to hear University of Waterloo Arts alumni, Robin Speziale, talk about his success following his undergraduate degree!

Our evening will feature Robin speaking about his journey, with time at the end for questions. Light snacks and refreshments will also be provided for your enjoyment during the event.

Weaving with Words: A Talk by Qwo-Li Driskill
Date: Friday, March 3rd

Qwo-Li Driskill is a non-citizen Cherokee Two-Spirit writer, performer, and activist. S/he is also the co-editor of Sovereign Erotics: A Collection of Two-Spirit Literature (University of Arizona: 2011) and Queer Indigenous Studies: Critical Interventions in Theory, Politics, and Literature (University of Arizona: 2011).

Brethren Woods - Peace and Justice Director

Brethren Woods is a Church of the Brethren affiliated summer camp located in western Virginia, about an hour and a half from downtown Washington, DC. They are looking to hire a Peace and Justice Director to teach classes to the approximately 560 children and youth who attend our summer camp program each summer.

Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies (SMF) Symposium: Call for Proposals
Location: University of Waterloo
Application Deadline: February 21st


The SMF Research Symposium Committee invites proposals for presentations addressing topics in the study of sexuality, relationships, and/or families.Presentations will be 20 minutes in length, followed by a 10 minute discussion. The Committee encourages research that approaches the conference topics from diverse disciplinary approaches; interdisciplinary and critical perspectives are particularly welcome.

Proposals are encouraged to reflect critically on any number of integrated topics, perspectives, and contexts.

Community Justice Initiatives - Youth VORP Service Coordinator
Deadline: February 22nd


Community Justice Initiatives is accepting applications for a position with Mediation Services. The Youth Service Coordinator will work closely with the Mediation Services Team and the Program Director and will be responsible for the coordination of the Restorative Justice Program for Youth.

In particular, they will discuss what are the critical skills employers in the social sector are seeking for 21st century changemakers, what are the best ways to develop these skills & emerging trends in hiring.

GoEco offers unique internship and volunteering opportunities for those who want to truly make their  résumé  stand out. GoEco interns will have the chance to develop new skills and improve existing ones with a  wildlife , humanitarian or environmental placement abroad.
