Canada's Top 100 Employers 2017 Logo
This year the University of Waterloo has joined the ranks of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, an annual country-wide ranking of organizations and business. The competition is designed to determine which employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees, using 8 specific criteria.  The University of Waterloo was cited for its pensions and benefit offerings, retirement preparation programs, and vacation allotment for employees. Onsite amenities were also highlighted, which include a quiet room for meditation and religious observance, a cafeteria with healthy and special diet menus, as well as a fully-equipped fitness facility.

The University has almost 5000 full time staff in Canada, and Peace and Conflict Studies graduates take up their fair share of those positions, in a number of different capacities. PACS graduates hold positions in: Centre for Peace Advancement, Conrad Grebel University, Economics Department, Peace and Conflict Studies Department, Psychology Department, Registrars Office, St. Jerome’s Residence and Campus Ministry, and UW Housing. Jobs within UWaterloo are highly competitive, with hundreds of applicants applying to each job opening.  PACS students are proving that, even in an organization ranked #1 in Canada for computer science and engineering, an arts-based education truly does hold merit.
