Paul Thagard
Paul Thagard, Ph.D., is a philosopher, cognitive scientist, and author of many interdisciplinary books. Along with being a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Waterloo, he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, the Cognitive Science Society, and the Association for Psychological Science. The Canada Council awarded him a Molson Prize (2007) and a Killam Prize (2013).

Notable contributions to the field include the following publications. In 2021, MIT Press published his book Bots and Beasts: What Makes Machines, Animals, and People Smart? His new book will be published by Columbia University Press in June, 2022:  Balance: How it works and what it means. Paul Thagard’s Treatise on Mind and Society was published by Oxford University Press in 2019.
