Philosophy offers several major and minor undergraduate programs, which will teach you to think critically and argue effectively. We also have a one-year MA program and two four-year PhD programs: a PhD in Philosophy and a PhD in Applied Philosophy. Our PhD in Applied Philosophy focuses on engaging with and reflecting on real situations and problems, and with a PhD in Philosophy, you can choose your research area and form expertise in feminist, anti-racist and decolonial philosophy, philosophy of Science and Maths, or bioethics and applied ethics.
Philosophers here value engagement with scholars in other fields, and we regularly have visiting scholars presenting their current research to faculty and students for discussion. We find that these interactions generate novel perspectives on philosophical problems and enrich our contributions to philosophical debate.
