Please join us as we celebrate Dr. Carla Fehr, Philosophy professor, GSJ program member and former GSJ Advisor. Dr. Fehr has been awarded the Equity and Inclusivity Award from the Faculty Association of the University of Waterloo (FAUW). This award is granted to individuals who have "shown an exemplary commitment to improving the lives of equity-seeking groups on campus."
Dr. Fehr came to her role as GSJ Advisor in a time of crisis and quickly and effectively organized events and programs to strengthen the Gender and Social Justice community at the University of Waterloo. This work was done across campus and beyond, including student societies, faculty, support centres (GLOW, SVPO, Counselling Services), and other institutions, resulting in the formation of strong bonds with Gender and Social Justice programs at other Universities (Laurier, Guelph, York). She has since diversified the GSJ committee members to reflect a wider breadth of contributors and has also restructured the GSJ academic plan requirements to reflect student needs and the evolutionary nature of the GSJ program.
