Speaker Series Event

In this talk, Dr. Caruso will focus on the three-month feminist occupation of a hospital in 1978 Rome in the immediate aftermath of this legislative reform, which aimed to embed a feminist approach to the provision of abortion care. Drawing on overlooked archival materials and original interviews with feminist abortion campaigners, she will bring to light the little-known history of this occupation.
