Content & Scope
The University is required to monitor radiation through control of inventories of nuclear substances and testing for contamination.
This records class excludes radiation dosimetry records for individual workers.
The records include open source nuclear substance inventories and usage records, open source contamination survey forms, and sealed source leak tests.

Retention
- Sealed source leak tests: 3 years.

Responsible Units should document the disposal/destruction of official records using the University records destruction form or equivalent documentation, to verify that we are following our records retention rules.

Retention Rationale
SOR/2000-207: Nuclear Substances and Radiation Devices Regulations, s. 36 (4) requires sealed source leak tests to be retained for 3 years.
