Content & Scope
Ministry of Labour approval is required to install and operate X-ray sources. The use of X-ray sources at the University is managed through an internal permit system.
This records class excludes radiation dosimetry records for individual workers and records of training of individual workers maintained in the human resources management system.
The records include applications for review of permanent X-ray locations, floor plans and other supporting documentation, ministry approvals, permits and amended permits, safety inspections, and worker registration and training records.

- Worker registration and training records: 3 years after termination of employment under the permit.
- All other records: 3 years after expiry of permit.

Note
Responsible Units should document the disposal/destruction of official records using the University records destruction form or equivalent documentation, to verify that we are following our records retention rules.
