Interested in becoming a CnD Manager?

At the beginning of every term, Science Society recruits a team of coordinators that have specific roles throughout the term to help students in the Science community. CnD Managers are a subunit of the Science Society team, responsible for managing the day-to-day functions at the Science CnD. If you are interested in becoming a CnD manager, keep an eye out for a Google Form application that gets posted on the Science Society’s Facebook page at the start of each term.

Please check out this link for more information about the responsibilities of a CnD Manager.

Volunteering with the Science CnD

If you’re having a busy term but still want to get involved with the Science Society, the Science Coffee and Donut Shop (CnD) offers one-hour shifts for students looking for a small time commitment each week. You will gain experience operating the cash register and interacting with customers. Volunteers work in pairs and training is provided upon signing up for a shift. There is a $1 honorarium given to volunteers, in the form of CnD goods, at the end of each shift.

If you would like to become a volunteer please apply here.

Volunteer committee

Do you want to volunteer, but none of the open shifts work with your schedule? Or maybe you’re interested in getting more involved with the CnD?

We love the drive and commitment you have and are hoping to put that energy to good use. Sign-up for the volunteer “commit-tea” here and you'll have the opportunity to make a longer lasting impact on the CnD with roles like feedback analysis, big project teams, and more. It's also a great way to meet your fellow volunteers and the managers!

Volunteer showcase and appreciation

We love all our volunteers for working extra hard to keep the Science CnD open five days a week. Without them, the CnD wouldn't be what it is today. The volunteer showcase is one way we show our appreciation for our volunteers. Every week, we select a volunteer for an interview and photoshoot to showcase on our social media. If you’re a volunteer at the Science CnD and would like to participate in a volunteer showcase please fill out this form.

At the end of every term, we host a volunteer appreciation event to celebrate our volunteers for their hard work! Volunteers can enjoy many different activities and goodie-bags from this event - another perk of becoming a volunteer!
