Annual awareness-raising events centered on sexual violence are part of the University of Waterloo’s prevention strategy, supporting its goal of promoting a consent culture on campus. These events provide important opportunities to intentionally generate dialogue about sexual violence, advance consent literacy, and build a campus community that prioritizes sexual violence prevention, health, and well-being.

Navigating & Supporting Menopause in the Workplace
November 13
10 - 11 AM
Register here
About: In this collaboration between Keeping Well at Work and SVPRO, join Stacey Jacobs and Jay Love to learn how menopause affects home and work life. Menopause is a transitional stage in many people’s lives and affects not only people experiencing this stage in life, but those around them, including colleagues, family, and friends. Education, resources and support have the potential to create more comfortable and inclusive workplaces and empower people through this transition. Everyone is welcome, as we can all benefit from learning more about Menopause. For everyone experiencing menopause, and for everyone who will, to feel included and competent in their roles at work, it is important to de-stigmatize and normalize this conversation. Note: If you joined this session in November 2024, you’re welcome to join again for a continuation of the conversation, and to further support one another and normalize this life transition.

November 13

About: In this collaboration between Campus Wellness and SVPRO, join Leah Foster (Health Promotion & Evaluation Specialist, Campus Wellness) and Stacey Jacobs to discuss how intentional boundary setting can increase your well-being. This session will define different types of boundaries, provide tips for setting boundaries at work and at home, and discuss the negative consequences that can occur when boundaries are not set or are not respected. Boundary setting provides an opportunity for reciprocity and increased connection and is a skill we can all benefit from. This will be an informal session and will provide opportunity for open discussion and questions, however you are also welcome to sit back and listen.
