Please join the Spanish and Latin American Studies Department in welcoming Prof. Lori Campbell, Director, Shatitsirotha Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre. Lori is a 2-Spirit nēhiyaw āpihtāwikosisān iskwew from Treaty 6 territory in kīwētinohk kisiskāciwan with matrilineal ties to mōniyawisākahikanihk. Lori is an intergenerational survivor of the Indian Residential School system and a child from the Sixties Scoop generation.

La Soledad - free screening

The screening will be preceded by a keynote presentation about the current situation in Venezuela, and how the crisis is affecting neighbouring Latin American countries, delivered by Shiva Mohan, PhD Candidate, Wilfrid Laurier University. There will be a post-screening Q&A with our guest speaker, Mr. Shiva Mohan, PhD Candidate, Wilfrid Laurier University and Dr. Mario Boido, Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo, specialist in Visual culture.
