Hosted by Mari-Beth Davis (Office of Advancement) and Donna Shin (CEE), 70 participants baked and decorated their own gingerbread cakes or cupcakes with cookie toppings at the Gingerbread Cake Holiday Baking event on December 7. We polled the participants and received 49 responses indicating that 35% were baking along with us and 65% were watching the session for tips and tricks. Participants who joined had various experience with baking, and all seemed to really enjoy the event!
The participants were engaged in the session through the Teams chat where they asked the two chefs questions and shared their experience and ideas with each other. Some colleagues reconnected during the virtual session; it was so lovely to bring the UW community together! Many joined with their families, and it was so nice to hear that children and grandchildren participated in the baking!
Before the session ended, a draw was held for three prizes. Congratulations to:
