Three members appointed to Board of Directors

Wednesday, December 22, 2021

Following the membership’s acceptance of the new UWSA by-law and the subsequent changes to the UWSA governance, which moved the three UWSA Presidents (President-elect Agata Jagielska, President Dave McDougall, Past President Kathy Becker) into Operations roles, the UWSA Board of Directors found itself with three vacancies in its complement. The vacancies posed a significant challenge to normal Board activities and so, the Board appointed three UWSA members to fill the vacancies until the next election cycle in the fall of 2022. Since there were no runner-up candidates from the 2021 election cycle, the Board solicited candidates from amongst the membership with a focus on staff members from under-represented areas on campus, under-represented staff demographics, and areas that align with UWSA’s strategic goals. The Board voted in a blind vote, and we are very pleased to introduce three new members of the UWSA Board of Directors; their appointments are effective immediately and will remain in place until the 2022 AGM.

The following individuals were appointed to the UWSA Board of Directors on December 7, 2021:

  • Amanda Cook, Director, Sexual Violence Prevention and Response, HREI (Director for a one-year term)
  • Tracelyn Cornelius, Anti-racism Communications Manager, University Relations (Director for a one-year term)
  • Jason Greatrex, Support Team Manager, CEE (Director for a one-year term)

With these three appointments, all Board seats are now filled. Join us in welcoming new and returning members of the 2021-22 Board of Directors.

With my wishes of good health to you and your loved ones for the holidays,

Agata Antkiewicz

Chair, UWSA Board of Directors
