Join the University of Waterloo’s Orientation Team (O-Team)

The University of Waterloo's O-Team plays a crucial role in welcoming and supporting 6,500–8,000 incoming first-year students annually. O-Team members are responsible for creating an inclusive, cohesive, and meaningful transition experience for new students, aligning with the core values of the university and the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute Orientation programming that complements year-round new student transition initiatives.
  • Manage programming logistics, administration, leader hiring and training, and budget coordination.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive community for incoming students and Orientation Leaders.

Time Commitment:

  • This role requires significant availability, including some evening and weekend work, even during co-op terms.
  • Weekly or bi-weekly meetings, comprehensive training sessions, and peak activities occur throughout the year, with in-person Orientation preparations from August 23–27, 2025, and Orientation from August 28–September 6, 2025.
