Information Technology is a part of everything we do. Computing, communications, printing, networking, and internet access have become foundations of the modern economy, including on campus, but the proliferation of IT devices and services have a significant environmental footprint. Through the development and implementation of sustainable IT best practices, the University of Waterloo’s Sustainability Office and Information Systems & Technology (IST) are partnering to transform the University’s IT landscape.
As part of this work, the project team will re-establish the Green IT Committee, the purpose of which will be to provide direction and assistance for the advancement of environmental sustainability initiatives across campus.
Questions about the Green IT Committee or the Sustainable IT initiative can be submitted to Andrew McAlorum, amcalorum@uwaterloo.ca.
