Congratulations to our colleague and friend Gerald Trites on his very timely and valuable forthcoming book.

“Beyond Sustainability Reporting: The Pathway to Corporate Social Responsibility” is a must-read for any companies wanting to make a strong contribution to sustainability issues, for educators who wish to teach sustainability issues and how to manage them, students who wish to benefit from the latest thinking in this area from one of Canada’s most innovative voices, and for anyone interested in knowing how companies can develop a strong and successful action-oriented program for sustainability.

Besides the valuable content in the main part of the book, there are three useful appendices that would be of great interest to practitioners, educators and students alike.

The Institute of Internal Auditors has renewed the University of Waterloo in the Internal Auditing Education Partnership (IAEP) program for the 2023-2028 period. The IAEP program was developed to respond to the growing interest in internal audit education at institutions of higher learning and recognizes institutions that demonstrate ongoing leadership in internal audit education. The global Institute of Internal Auditors’ renewal of its affiliation with the University of Waterloo signifies that the curricula developed prepare students with the skills and knowledge to help them conduct internal audits as well as provide a foundation to begin preparing for the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) examination. Waterloo joins a select group of over 50 other distinguished institutions world-wide participating in the program.

The 3rd annual interactive dashboard competition, co-sponsored by UWCISA and the ISACA Toronto Chapter started with 91 teams (all 452 AFM112 students). 24 teams advanced to the second round. During the final round of the competition the top five teams will present their dashboard to a panel of industry and academic experts. The top performing team will receive the $1000 prize sponsored by the ISACA Toronto Chapter.
