Gryphon Theriault-Loubier is a doctoral candidate at the University of Waterloo School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED). Gryph’s research focuses on the development of approaches that improve the ability of organisations to manage in complex environments. Gryph is interested in strategy, systems, design, complexity, and related fields of research.
As the program manager for Strategic Design at WISIR, Gryph works with our staff and postdoctoral researchers to find strategic alignment and opportunity within the Investment Readiness Program (IRP). Within the IRP partnership team, Gryph works in collaboration with the data and digital products teams to create a knowledge base and meaningful platforms for connection across the ecosystem.
Previously, Gryph worked as a consultant in investigation of multinational white collar crime, the result of which was featured in The Guardian, Toronto Star, Der Spiegel, and elsewhere. Gryph has been involved with the design, testing, launch and scaling of multiple organisations in a variety of industries, such as financial technology and climate technology.
Since 2019, Gryph has been the country leader for Creative Commons Canada, where has led projects to increase Commons resources in Canada, and where he has spoken to universities, research centres, cultural institutions, and the Canadian Senate on the value of a strong commons.
