Abstract:

Various examples of solar PV electricity generation in Arctic communities, and CO2 avoided and Diesel avoided data. Examples of extremely bad and extremely good solar generation based on season. Some benchmarking examples between Southern and Northern solar systems.

Bio:

Presented by Klaus Dohring (President of Green Sun Rising, Inc.)

Klaus Dohring has been the founder and President of Green Sun Rising since January 2008. For over 16 years now, he has built up local solar activities and expertise, supported and backed up by leading European solar companies, with decades of solar experience and know-how. The Renewable Energy Technology Center in Windsor was founded following his vision. Klaus has over 500 solar projects successfully implemented in Canada to date, with him as project manager and team leader. Ten years ago Klaus and Green Sun Rising started to reach out to the Northern and remote communities, where energy supply is a challenge. To date, his team has implemented 55 solar systems in remote Diesel communities.
