This week's Web Dev Rev started with some Drupal-related notes:
- Drupal 8.3.8 released (which is odd)
- "Top 5" problems in Drupal 8?
- Using Drupal 8's off-canvas dialog
- Better SVG sprite re-use with Twig in Drupal 8
- Webform 8.x-5.0-RC4 was released
- The release disabled the password field
- The release also removed the dependency on Contribute module
- The dependency on Contribute was controversial:
- Negative comments in the issue queue
- Petition to remove dependency (link no longer available)
- Silent Contribute module
- Issue to remove Contribute dependency
- Yes, the Contribute module is making a statement
- My three mistakes in regards to the Contribute module and Drupal
- Issue to have something like Contribute in Drupal core
- Webform 8.x-5.0-RC5 was also released
Then we had the "general" web development notes:
- "standups" in Slack(/Mattermost)
- Let's Encrypt now supports wildcard certificates
- sad web design
- first public working draft for CSS text decoration level 4 specification
- an accessibility guidelines checklist
Next up were some "video notes", starting with what's new in Chrome 65.
...followed by "Drupal 8.5.0 Layout Builder in Core":
We moved on to watch Jonathan Snook's talk about container queries from dotCSS 2017.
