WCMS 3 training

Learning the Waterloo Content Management System (WCMS)!

In these online courses you will work through modules at your own pace to complete activities that teach you how to create and edit, and manage content within the WCMS.

Where to begin

  1. Self-register for the mandatory course: WCMS 3 Essentials: Level 1 in LEARN.
  2. Open the course in LEARN and complete Before you Begin.

    • Note: there is a 2 day waiting period for your training site which is required before moving to Module 1 in the course.

  3. Once you receive your registration email with you training site, complete the course (including all activities, quizzes, and final test).

  4. Inform your Site owner of your course completion.

    • Note: site owners may request confirmation of your course completion which will be provided to you by email after one business day. Course completion will also appear in workday (may take a few days to appear).

  5. Optionally complete WCMS 3 Web Forms.

    • Note: there is a 2 day waiting period for your training site which is required before moving to Module 1 in the course. This will be the same training site, however, requires a role update to be completed by the WCMS team.

WCMS 3 Essentials: Level 1

This hands-on course for site maintainers will introduce the WCMS 3 and provide an overview of the main features. Site maintainers will develop the skills to confidently create and manage accessible web content. We will also cover the additional resources needed for after completing this course.

This course is required for site maintainers. If you will be maintaining a WCMS 3 website, then you must take this course.

WCMS 3 Web forms

This hands-on course for site maintainers will guide you through creating a form, adding form elements, configuring email options, and using conditionals and form validation. We'll also talk about security and privacy concerns with collecting data and how you can decide what to collect.

This course is highly recommended for anyone creating or maintaining WCMS 3 Web forms.
