Wednesday, October 22, 2025

All WCMS 3 sites will soon be upgraded to WCMS 3.2.35.

These release notes are subject to change without notice.

Release notes

Features/functionality

  • added a "content navigation" block to allow "previous/next" navigation for site content similar to WCMS 2's publication theme (note that styling is not final and the look is expected to change in a future release)
  • added a method for site managers to use the file list to delete unused files
  • added the ability to mark specific text as being a citation from the styles dropdown in the visual editor (semantically, this is meant to be used to indicate the title of a piece of work, like a book title, not someone's name)
  • added an option to hide the date that would normally appear at the top of the page/teaser for all content types that display them
  • added an option to choose the vertical alignment of a table's contents from the styles dropdown in the visual editor

Fixes/updates

  • fixed the reference item "conference paper" not showing the name of the conference
  • made saving blocks with required fields using the visual editor work properly when started from source view
  • made it easier to delete specific items from blocks that support multiple items
  • added a validation warning to prevent saving content where a newly-generated tag would exceed the character limit
  • added protection to blocks that use content from external URLs to prevent the blocks from breaking the page if the URL can't be reached
  • fixed the date range option for event listings in an automatic listing block so it works as expected
  • fixed the month of September showing the wrong character in dates when the site is configured to be in Chinese
  • fixed an issue that was preventing scholarly research from showing on OFIS profiles

Theming changes

  • ensured that expand/collapse content using extra-wide width sections is constrained to that width when the expand/collapse block is placed in a full width section
  • changed the default vertical alignment of table content to be at the top of the cells
  • modified the appearance of tables in the visual editor to be slightly more similar to the output on the page
