family with alumnus in tent
Written by Jennifer Bentley, Alumni Officer, Reunion and Events

For those of you I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, my name is Jenn Bentley and I am the Alumni Officer, Reunions and Events. I coordinate Reunion in partnership with the faculties, colleges and departments on campus to bring one exciting event together for you.

Reunion is one week away and I cannot wait for the excitement that will be happening on campus. Alumni will revisit campus, faculty, staff and students will see campus in a different way and community members will be welcomed to get to know UWaterloo a little better. The day will be filled with Waterloo pride, vintage Waterloo gear and alumni who can still recite their student id numbers.

To help you make the most of your Reunion experience I have put together my tips for creating another lasting Waterloo memory.

  1. Plan your day
    • There is a full schedule of events and you will need to plan your route in order to get everywhere you want. Does your day focus on faculty events, sporting events or family activities? Whatever it is, we have something for everyone.
  2. Show your pride
    • It’s time to sport your black and gold – new, old and fully treasured, we love to see your favourite Waterloo gear. Need new stuff? Alumni receive 15% off at the Waterloo Store on September 27.
  3. Share your stories
    • Part of the fun at Reunion is hearing about the great memories and experiences that you’ve had on campus. Watch for our videographer to get your moment in the spotlight!
  4. Bring your family and friends
    • Make the day even more special by sharing it with your family and friends. Whether you are looking for a fun way to spend the day with your kids or reuniting with friends you haven’t seen since you were in class – both make for a fantastic day.
  5. Share your experience with us
    • Take photos and share your day with us on social media using #UWReunion. We want to see the day from your perspective so don’t forget to share!
  6. Wear sunscreen
