Each year, the department of anthropology recognizes one or two outstanding and well-rounded students who have shown exceptional commitment to the department and the University of Waterloo as a whole. Successful candidates will have demonstrated enthusiasm, respectfulness, a positive attitude, hard work, and academic excellence while progressing toward a degree majoring in anthropology.
Jessie participated in the UW AnthSoc as the VP creative for two years, approaching school and society engagement with a great attitude and willingness to help. Jessie is someone who encourages and supports her peers in their academics. She is always there help with osteology, think through a complex concept, or just be a positive presence. Beyond being a dedicated and exemplary student, Jessie truly embodies how peers and friends should collaborate, connect, and support each other in every department of every university. We are so fortunate to have had her in our Anthropology community and wish her all the best in her future studies.
Congratulations Jessica Rae!
