Graduate student

Laurence graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology. She is interested in bioarcheology and dental anthropology to learn about past populations. Laurence is currently pursuing her MA degree under the supervision of Dr. Alexis Dolphin. 

Oshadi received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Specialization in Anthropology, with Distinction) in 2025 from the Univeristy of Western Ontario. She is pursuing her MA under the supervision of Dr. Adrienne Lo, examining discourses on immigration and xenophobia in Canadian contexts. Her research interests are sociocultural, including language, culture, and the intersections of law and society, with a broader commitment to understanding how anthropological insights can inform policy and public life.   

Will received his bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with a minor in Classical Studies from the University of Waterloo. He is now studying with Dr. Alexis Dolphin. His research interests include paleopathology and bioarcheology. 

Shirin Nozari

MA Student

Shirin completed a bachelor’s degree in Evolutionary Anthropology and Studio Art at the University of Toronto. She is now pursuing graduate research under the supervision of Dr. Liu, with interests in sociocultural, medical, and paleoanthropology.  

Abbiraa received her bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University of Waterloo.  She is now pursuing her MA degree under the supervision of Dr. Robert Stark. Her research interests include forensic anthropology, osteology, paleopathology, and bioarcheology.  

Cameron graduated from Acadia University in 2025 with an Honours bachelor's degree in Classics and Biology. She is interested in biological anthropology, particularly bioarcheology, osteology, funerary contexts, and biocultural approaches. Cameron has been on two digs and one archaeological survey. She is currently pursuing an MA in Anthropology under the supervision of Dr. Robert Stark.  

Zheng Liu

MA Student

Zheng completed his BSc in Anthropology at University College London and an MPhil in Digital Humanities at the University of Cambridge. He is now pursuing an MA under the supervision of Dr. Lo. His research focuses on online language and subculture in China.  

Olivia graduated from the University of Waterloo with a bachelor’s in Anthropology and a minor in Geography and Environmental Management. She is currently pursuing her MA under the supervision of Dr. Watts and is exploring the potential application of artificial intelligence in the field of archaeology. 

Matheus completed his undergraduate degree in Anthropology and History at Wilfrid Laurier University and is now pursuing an MA under the supervision of Dr. Lo. His research in socio-cultural anthropology focuses on religious studies, traditions and customs, syncretism, and the dynamics of religious communities. 

Hannah Clark

MA Student

Hannah received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Waterloo. She is now pursuing her masters under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Liu. Her research interests include death and dying, the deathcare industry, identity, and care.
