Graduate Studies in Rome
The School of Architecture has held a permanent studio space in Rome since 1979. Graduate students can travel to Rome with the fourth-year undergraduate class, during a portion of, or the entire fall term. Students participate in courses and lectures delivered at various historical sites in the city as well as joining field trips visiting Siena, Gubbio, Urbino, Parma, Mantova, Verona, Vicenza, Venice, Cuma, Baia, Pompeii, Capri, Paestum and Sperlonga while earning academic credit.
Experiential learning is at the core of architectural education. The Rome experience embodies the belief that the study of architecture is situated within larger social and cultural debates.
