South Field Trip

We will be visiting Cuma, Baia, Pompeii, Capri, Paestum and Sperlonga

Day One:

CUMA: This is the first Greek colony on mainland Italy, site of one of the most famous oracles of all time: the Sibyl of Cuma.

BAIA: On our second stop we will visit the remains of the greatest of all the ancient Roman spas, Baia.

PAESTUM: We will leave Baia and drive over Naples, passing Vesuvius, Pompeii and Salerno, arriving at our hotel in Paestum around 7:30.

We will stay at the same hotel for all four nights of the South Trip. We eat breakfast and dinner at the hotel, though you pay for your own drinks, and you buy your own lunch for each day.

Day Two – Capri: We take a ferry to Capri very early in the morning, leaving from Salerno and cruising out the Amalfi Penninsula. Return at dinner time.

Day Three – Pompeii: Pompeii by bus, spend the entire day at the site and come back at dinner time.

Day Four – Paestum: We will have breakfast and then walk to the archaeological site for the morning. You will be free for lunch and all afternoon to go to the museum, the beach, to eat mozzarella and relax.

Day Five – To Rome via Sperlonga: We will leave early and get to the Museum at Sperlonga before noon, visit the museum and then spend some time on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in Italy. Return to Rome in the evening (depending on weather conditions and traffic).
