Creative Instincts and Architectural Imagination

The two week project was inspired by a quote by the psychologist C.G. Jung - Too much of the animal distorts the civilized man, too much civilization makes sick animals. The assignment involved choosing a site and designing and building an installation based on getting to know the biology, behaviour and mythology of an animal and the architectural interpretation of a symbol.  The animal / symbol groups were  Frog / Vessel (Philip Carr-Harris, Katty Cybulski, Patrick Stephen), Otter / Knot (Lily Tran, Yidan Wang, Adil Dharshi), Crow / Border (Nateja Mohammed, Sarah Mason, Salman Rauf, Ethan Zhang), Coyote / Space (Magdalena Kaczmarczyk, Ambekar Sudhir, Shivangy Sundarajan), Firefly / Horizon (Sophie Fan, Courtney Lee, Laura Woodall, Raina Wu), and Caribou / Blanket (Salina Lee, Rory Sibley, Alifa Frebrian).
