Masterworks 2026: A Room of One’s Home
Curated by Bianca Weeko Martin (MArch ’22)
Thursday, July 23, 2026, 6 - 8 p.m.
Riverside Gallery, Design at Riverside
A Room of One’s Home brings together the work of six Waterloo Architecture graduates and alumni whose research reflects on relationships between architecture, diaspora, memory, and cultural knowledge.
Through drawings, publications, artifacts, and architectural research, the exhibition considers how ideas of home are carried across places and generations. The works explore architecture’s potential to reconnect people with landscapes, histories, and identities, while creating space for exchange, reflection, and renewed belonging.
The exhibition features work by:
- Ricardo Espinoza — Caribbean Sea
- Hynind (Nidi) Metaj — Albania
- Angeline Reyes — Philippines
- Giulia Simonetta — Italy
- Zaven Titizian — Syria/Lebanon
- Hiba Hasan Zubairi — Indus River Basin
Masterworks is Waterloo Architecture’s annual exhibition showcasing exemplary graduate and alumni research through a contemporary architectural theme. We are grateful to Diamond Schmitt for its continued support of Masterworks and for helping provide a platform for emerging designers and researchers.
