Sarah Gertler's thesis research receiving attention in Toronto

Wednesday, November 16, 2016

Waterloo Architecture graduate student Sarah Gertler and her thesis adviser Mona El Khafif were featured on the CBC's Metro Morning for a series called, "A Place to Go: Designing the city for dogs and people." It is a 5-part series that investigates the role of design in relieving some of the growing tensions around dogs.

Sarah has been compiling research on how high-density communities in Toronto, such as condos, can deal with dog waste. Her thesis focuses on the Concord CityPlace condo development, which an informal study found to have about seven dogs per floor. Sarah was also recently featured in the Torontoist discussing her thesis.
