Congratulations to Prateek Wason, 2nd place winner of the SOPREMA Award. Several awards are presented annually to full-time undergraduate or graduate students in the School of Architecture who enrolled in ARCH 473, ARCH 493, ARCH 673 or ARCH 693. Selection is made on the basis of a strong technical understanding of the building envelope and great design skills as evidenced by the grades received in the final project and technical report.
Prateek Wason is from the northern part of India and has recently moved to Canada to complete his Masters at the Waterloo School of Architecture. His research revolves around the redesign and working of cities to be developed as Bio Cities, which is becoming more relevant with the rising issues of climate change. Instead of taking from nature, Bio Cities work with it to help replenish the harm done over the past century.
