It has attracted the focus of major universities, including the University of Waterloo, as well as some of the world's biggest companies in order to use cognitive machine learning techniques to solve industry challenges. Global spending on AI has been predicted to exceed $57 billion USD by 2021.
The best AI applications come from hybrid approahces, where science meets product development. By building a bridge between academic researchers and industry leaders, AI can be more efficiently developed into a tool for human progress.
