Meet the panelists

Kelvin Tran

Kelvin Tran is the Senior Manager of Revenue Operations & Strategy at Ownr. With extensive experience across Sales, Partnerships, and Business Operations, Kelvin has been instrumental in driving Ownr's revenue growth through retention and sales enablement initiatives. He's a University of Waterloo graduate from the Arts and Business program majoring in Legal Studies and minoring in Sociology. He has also previously worked at ApplyBoard (a start-up based in KW) as well as for the University of Waterloo in recruitment and the Student Success Office.

Trish Villanueva

Trish Villanueva is the current Global Head of Fraud Threat Management for Scotiabank. She has worked in cybersecurity for over 10 years and just recently transitioned to Fraud. Working her way from SOC analyst to trusted professional, Trish has built six Security Operations Centres on four continents and responded to some of the largest breaches in North America. She is passionate about community engagement and cyber education and is currently an instructor at York University’s School of Continuing Education.

Rosalind (Roz) Gunn

Rosalind (Roz) Gunn is the Director of Communications and Advocacy at YWCA Cambridge, where she has led its strategic communications, advocacy and government relations for over five years, advancing progressive policy change at the local, provincial and national levels. Roz specializes in feminist policy analysis, strategic communications and storytelling. She also has experience working in both the labour movement and post-secondary education sector.

Negin Safdari

Since leaving UWaterloo, she's worked in high growth tech companies – or as an Executive Headhunter, recruiting top talent for tech orgs. She's worked in sales, marketing, data analytics, customer success, executive recruiting and now runs Revenue Operations at a local hardware & software company. Never in a million years could she have pictured her career taking all these twists and turns, but that's the gift of an arts degree – it's whatever you want it to be.
