The Waterloo Centre for German Studies is a research institute at the University of Waterloo. Funded by private donations, the WCGS supports research into all aspects of the German-speaking world, and is committed to publicly-oriented scholarship. We facilitate the communication of German studies research, distribute awards to students wishing to study in Germany, and organize cultural programming for the university and wider communities.

Canadian Summer School in Germany
The Canadian Summer School in Germany (CSSG) offers university-level language courses in Kassel in a unique and intensive cultural immersion program. All courses are equivalent to a full-year course and the course credits are transferable to all Canadian and U.S. institutions.

Celebrating 10 years of the Cecilia and the late George Piller Graduate Research Award
We are celebrating 10 years of the Cecilia and the Late George Piller Graduate Research Award. Made possible by a donation from Cecilia Piller in 2013, two awards valued at $4,000 each are presented annually to support excellent graduate students in the Faculty of Arts doing research into any aspect of German Studies.
