Earlier this year, we accepted applications for our first Diversity and Inclusion Grants, whose purpose is to provide scholars and programs with some financing to support initiatives aimed at improving diversity and inclusion in German studies in Canada. The WCGS Grimm Lecture 2020 “Thinking Itself Is Dangerous: Reading Hannah Arendt Now” by Professor Samantha Rose Hill was scheduled to be held on 19 March 2020. Due to a state of emergency in Ontario to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, the public lecture had to be cancelled in order to protect the health of the community.
