Lynne Taylor Book Cover
WCGS invites one and all to a talk by Lynne Taylor, University of Waterloo professor of History. Dr. Taylor will discuss her latest book, In the Children's Best Interests: Unaccompanied Refugee Children in Germany, 1945-1952.

About the talk: After the dust settled at the end of WWII, 700,000 displaced persons remained in the American occupation zone in Germany. Among them were 40,000 unaccompanied children - children orphaned or separated from their families by the war. Without legal guardians, these children had no one to protect or advocate for them. For the agencies responsible for their care, they were a complex problem which took years to sort out. Their story still resonates today.

The Waterloo Campus Book Store will be on site with copies of Prof. Taylor's book for purchase.
