WCGS Book Prize 2017 Winner

The winner of the inaugural WCGS Book Prize is Alice Weinreb of Loyola University for her book Modern Hungers: Food and Power in Twentieth-Century Germany, published by Oxford University Press.

Two universities, one degree, multiple opportunities

The Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies seeks excellent students to join the unique Joint MA program in Intercultural German Studies. The program is fully funded and includes one year of study at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, and one year at the University of Mannheim, Germany. Students obtain a combined joint degree from the two universities.

Spend May and June in Germany with other students from all over Canada and earn university credits, live in a German home, walk through the Brandenburg Gate, immerse yourself in the German language, and more!

Round Table Dinners for German speaking students/PhDs/MBAs and Young Professionals in Canada and the US. The idea is to present Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as an attractive employer and to discuss career opportunities that BCG Germany has to offer. See dates below.

Dr. Marga Weigel, a proud Waterloo alumna, created this award to encourage engineering students to pursue exchange opportunities in Germany or Austria.

Award Value: One award of $5,000 for two academic exchange terms or two awards valued at $2,500 for one academic exchange term each.

What's view?! Film Group

The What’s view?! Film Group meets on most Tuesdays and Thursdays (6:30 pm) throughout this summer to watch many interesting German movies from the 1920s to the present. Where? Media Commons Theatre (Robarts Library).
