CRE-MSD Welcomes Dr. Steven Fischer as Associate Director, Research

Thursday, September 1, 2022

We’re pleased to welcome Dr. Steven Fischer as the new Associate Director, Research for CRE-MSD. Steve is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo.

Steve says: “CRE-MSD has played an important role through my graduate training, as an early career researcher, and now as a mid career researcher. Seed grants and student travel awards have helped me to develop and support a workplace-partnered, stakeholder-focused MSD prevention research program and I am so grateful to CRE-MSD for those important grant and award supports. Now, as the new Associate Director, Research, I have the opportunity to give back to CRE-MSD and our MSD prevention research community and stakeholders, and I look forward to continue to support and expand the impact that CRE-MSD can have through the grants and awards programming.”

We would also like to thank Dr. Clark Dickerson for his contributions in serving as CRE-MSD’s Associate Director, Research since 2016. We wish Clark well in his new role as Interim Executive Director for the Centre for Bioengineering and Biotechnology (CBB) at the University of Waterloo.
