Stuart McGill.
Dr. Stuart McGill is a spinal biomechanist and professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. He has been the author of many scientific publications that address the issues of lumbar function, low back injury mechanisms, investigation of tissue loading during rehabilitation programs, and the formulation of work-related injury avoidance strategies. He has been an invited lecturer at many universities and societies around the world.

As a consultant, he has provided expertise on assessment and reduction of the risk of low back injury to various government agencies, many corporations, professional athletes and teams, and legal firms. He holds other academic appointments which include the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Waterloo; the Institute of Medical Science, University of Toronto; and the Southern California University of Health Sciences. Much of his work is summarized in the recent book entitled Low Back Disorders: Evidence-based Prevention and Rehabilitation, published by Human Kinetics Publishers.
