New Report: Canadian Perspectives and Pathways for Ocean-Based Climate Interventions

Monday, July 8, 2024

Canada, with its extensive coastlines and ocean expertise, is uniquely positioned to integrate ocean-based climate interventions into its climate strategy. Recognizing a lack of platforms to unite researchers and stakeholders, the Marine Environmental Observation, Prediction and Response Network (MEOPAR) and the University of Waterloo Climate Intervention Strategies Lab (WatCISL) launched a national webinar series to initiate a national discussion on marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR) and other ocean-based climate interventions. Supported by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the webinars attracted significant participation from federal agencies, industry, academia, and non-governmental/not-for-profit organizations.
