William Gillam

William Gillam completed both his BSc. Environmental Sciences and MSc. Geography at the University of Guelph, finishing the latter in 2017. For his MSc. William studied the impacts of agricultural development on landscape stability over the 10,000 years of agrarian history in Europe. Since completing his thesis William has worked in a variety of different industries including renewable energy, indigenous affairs, public health, community development, and rural internet. Following his time in the private sector William joined the MIPP program at the Balsillie School of International Affairs in 2020 and then the PhD. Global Governance program in 2021. For his dissertation William is researching the nexus of biospheric governance, the development of outer space, and their futures.
