Book by WatCISL member wins prestigious book award
Neil Craik's recent book, Liability for Environmental Harm to the Global Commons (Cambridge University Press, 2023), was awarded the 2024 Canadian Council on International Law’s Scholarly Book Award. The Award recognizes the work of Canadian scholars of international law that make a substantial contribution to international law literature.
Professor Craik’s book, co-authored with Tara Davenport (National University of Singapore) and Ruth Mackenzie (University of Westminster), provides the first in-depth examination and evaluation of the current international legal regime governing liability for environmental harm to areas beyond national jurisdiction. This is a legally complex area that is of increasing salience due to emerging resource exploitation pressure and severe environmental degradation of the global commons.
Professor Craik’s book is available as an open-access resource on the CambridgeCore website.
