Tutte Colloquium - Krystal Guo

Title: Eigenvalue interlacing in digraphs

Speaker: Krystal Guo
Affiliation: University of Waterloo
Room: MC 5501

Abstract: The interplay between eigenvalues of graphs and graph properties has been well-studied. Many spectral bounds, such as those for diameter and for chromatic number, are known. The spectra of digraphs, however, is a relatively unexplored area.

Graph Theory Seminar - Marthe Bonamy

Title: Kempe equivalence of colourings

Speaker: Marthe Bonamy
Affiliation: University of Waterloo
Room: MC 6486

Abstract:

Given a colouring of a graph, a Kempe change is the operation of picking a maximal bichromatic subgraph and switching the two colours in it. Two colourings are Kempe equivalent if they can be obtained from each other through a series of Kempe changes.

Algebraic Graph Theory - Chris Godsil

Title: Quantum walks

Speaker: Chris Godsil
Affiliation: University of Waterloo
Room: MC 6486

Abstract: We will introduce basic ideas in the application of spectral
graph theory to quantum walks.
