Chaitanya Swamy appointed Acting Chair of C&O

Professor Chaitanya Swamy has been appointed to a ten-month term as acting chair of the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization. His term begins on September 1, 2019.

Professor Swamy joined the C&O department in 2006, after completing his Ph.D. at Cornell University in 2004, and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Caltech. His research interests include combinatorial optimization, approximation algorithms, algorithmic game theory,  stochastic optimization, network design, scheduling, and online algorithms. Professor Swamy serves on the editorial boards of SIAM Journal on Computing and Discrete Optimization. He is a two-time recipient of an NSERC Discovery Accelerator Supplement.
