Professor dedicates her art, research and teaching to understanding Black freedom

Congratulations to Imre Szeman for being among the Royal Society of Canada’s Class of 2020. Professor Imre Szeman has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC), one of Canada’s most distinguished scholarly honours.

Chris Goddard (BA ’01) is the co-founder of Craft Brand Co., a Toronto agency that partners with local brewers to offer globally renowned brews to Ontario beer lovers. In 2019, Craft Brand Co. launched their online store, Bodega, where you can order limited release brews, exclusive offerings and all the classics – and have them delivered anywhere in Ontario.

Communication is about making meaning, says Professor Robert Danisch, department chair of Communication Arts. “You make meaning by producing effects on others. So, it’s about how to produce the right kinds of effects to convey your message or ideas.” In fact, he's making effects on students of communication in the classroom and beyond with a toolbox of learning resources, including his podcast series, Now We’re Talking.
